Pet lovers have a new place to pamper their pooches — and other furry, feathery and scaly friends.Paws & Claws, located in Somerset, has officially opened, selling everything from pet clothing to pet fish to top-quality lines of pet food.The new West End business is owned by Steven and Gerlie Barbosa. On hand to cut the ribbon was area MP Michael Scott.At 27 Cambridge Road, Paws & Claws is tucked away in the heart of the Sandys North Community.It has good parking and pet lovers “will be able to indulge their every pet fancy”, the Barbosas said.Shelves are stocked with doggy tee-shirts and raincoats from infant and puppy sizes up to the Queen’s Corgi sizes.There is an aquarium with exotic fish and a bird aviary stocked with feathered friends.Paws & Claws also sells both cat and dog food brands, including Orijen and Acana dog food carried exclusively here on the Island by the Barbosas. They also carry celebrity chef Rachael Ray’s popular line of healthy and nutritious dog food.On cutting the ribbon MP Mr Scott offered his best wishes to the Barbosas and said of the enterprising couple that their businesses will be a welcome addition to the Sandys community.
