Little gem: Jeweller Astwood Dickinson's new addition to their signature collection

An international symbol of good luck and strength is the latest piece to be added to the Astwood Dickinson Ltd. ’s signature collection. The jewellery store unveiled the 18 kt gold elephant-design piece on Tuesday evening during a shopping event at their Front Street shop.The elephant was designed and handmade in Bermuda in the company's Front Street workshop by jeweller Julian Pitkin. This pendant, which can also be worn as a brooch, features a diamond representing the elephant’s eye.The signature collection production run is limited to 100 pieces, and each one is numbered individually. They also comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and cost $950.As Cooper & Son Ltd. ’s managing director Somers Cooper explained the choice of the motif, saying: "The elephant is considered to be a symbol of good luck and strength in many cultures. The elephant's strong family bonds that exist among its species has naturally made the majestic animals also represent love, respect and loyalty." Mr Cooper added: "The trunk plays a major role in superstitions regarding elephants.
