Baptiste holds DIY, tool try-out event

DIY event: Sacha Bearden, the owner of Baptiste.

Calling all DIYers Baptiste home and building supplies store is holding a special event this weekend for customers to try out the store’s power tools, get tips and even learn some basic car maintenance.“After the enormous success of our Ladies Night Paint Event last fall, we decided to do another event,” Baptiste owner Sacha Bearden said.“This one is focused more on DIYers, contractors and homeowners.“Ms Bearden said the Friday night event at the Warwick store is from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and if you are interested in attending, please RSVP sales@baptiste.bm or fill in a form in the store. There will be hardware and tool demonstrations, giveaways and chances to win power tools by Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee and Rockwell, plus hand tool prizes by Irwin and Kreg Jig.In addition there will be automotive maintenance demonstrations by Noble Auto, so you can learn the basics of car maintenance.“The Kreg Jig demonstration is pretty impressive — we have a local contractor, Jamie Smith doing it and there’s not much Jamie can’t make with a Kreg Jig,” Ms Bearden said.“Attendees will be able to try out the tools and learn the differences by brand. There’s nothing like actually using the tool to see the differences. Cut, drill, grind … we will have multiple tools to demo. Plus every tool will be on sale that night so it’s a perfect opportunity to buy a Father’s Day gift.”And on Saturday from 10am to 2pm there will be a continuation of the event with more demonstrations by all the vendors, giveaways and goodies for the children.“It will be another opportunity to try out the tools, learn a bit more about the products we offer, and save some money on Father’s Day gifts,” she said.
