Starz dropped from CableVision line-up

CableVision is dropping the Starz and Encore channels from its line up due to an international rights issue. The channels include Starz in Black, Starz Cinema, Starz Kids and Family, and Encore Westerns.CableVision general manager Terry Roberson said: "Even as we continuously strive to bring our subscribers the best in local, regional and international programming, we do not have control over international distribution rights, which are decided outside of Bermuda by the networks and programming producers. There are times when we are not able to secure these rights for Bermuda, or renew these rights.“This is currently the case with Starz and its sister network, Encore.”He continued: "As of August 1, we will not have the rights to the show the STARZ or Encore networks and are therefore obliged to remove these five channels from our line-up on that date: Starz!; Starz! in Black; Starz! Cinema; Starz! Kids & Family and Encore Westerns (Channels 340-344). Customers' statement will of course be adjusted accordingly."We regret this development and are actively seeking alternative Premium programming for our subscribers. We will notify them when we have an option for their consideration."
