Shoes — high heeled, high fashion, unique shoes from Europe and the West Coast, all tested by the store owner herself, along with jewellery featuring plenty of statement pieces and smart, attention-getting handbags, are among the offerings in Sharon Swan’s new Sandys store.

Located at 29 Mangrove Bay Road, Chaussures & Accessories has just launched, first opening its doors on September 2.

With the help of her husband William Swan, the store is decorated with unique hand made furnishings. “I have brought my own style to the store,” she said.

Ms Swan explained why she has opened Chaussures & Accessories: “My passion is shoes — I am shoe fanatic!” After a 19-year career with HSBC and the Bank of Bermuda, she said: “I decided it was time to follow my own dreams and passion.” She began by selling shoes from home before opening the store. The style of shoes on sale at Chaussures & Accessories are typically heels. “I love heels,” said the new shop owner. There are other styles as well. “My main focus is trendy, unique and affordable.”

The products are tested by the store owner herself. “Every shoe I bring in — I take a pair myself,” explaining it means she can attest to comfort and fit.

Ms Swan has sourced her fall collection from England and from Spain, as well as the West Coast. “There is not a lot of difference between fashion in Europe and the US right now,” she said. “The trends are worldwide.”

In the future, Ms Swan says she hopes to bring in accessories from the fashion centre of Amsterdam.
