A Butterfield spokesman said banking centres will be open to serve clients from 9am until 2pm, as usual.

A spokesman for Butterfield said the bank will delay the opening of its offices and banking centres by one hour to 10am on Friday.

Butterfield said it regrets any inconvenience.

A spokesman for Clarien said: “The safety and wellbeing of staff and clients is always our top priority. With a winter storm approaching the Island, we have decided to close our Main Branch at 2pm tomorrow to allow in office staff an opportunity to get home safely and make any necessary preparations.”

“The branch will reopen on Friday, January 29, at 10am to allow our team an opportunity to assess the premises for a safe return.”

HSBC Bermuda said its branches would also resume normal operations on Friday at 10am.

A spokeswoman for HSBC said: “The return to work will be subject to further guidance from the Bermuda Government’s Emergency Measures Organisation and confirmation that it will be safe to return to the bank’s premises.

“We thank our customers for their continued business and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause them as we strive to provide them and our employees with a safe environment in which to conduct business.”
