New store plays guessing game

A commercial tenant is soon to open up shop in a prime City of Hamilton location, but is keeping consumers guessing about their identity.

A sign in the window at 30 Queen Street, the former home of retailer Jeans Express, reads: “30 Queen Street is getting overhauled … can you guess what we’re planning?”

The sign invites residents to send their guesses to watchthisspacebda@gmail.com, and to follow along on Instagram @watchthisspacebda “for a chance to win some awesome prizes”.

The 1,800-square-foot space has been vacant since Jeans Express closed down at the end of January last year after 10 years in the location.

An e-mail to the aforementioned address asking what kind of response it has had to the invitation, when it expected to announce its plans for the space, what prizes are on offer, and if it would consider providing any hints about its plans, went unanswered.
