A new consulting firm providing strategy, project management and executive communications coaching services has been launched by Pat Phillip-Fairn.

She is the founder and chief executive officer of Objective Consulting Ltd. The firm focuses on serving clients primarily in the financial services, economic development and tourism sectors.

Ms Phillip-Fairn has previously worked in key roles at the Bermuda Tourism Authority and Bermuda Monetary Authority, and is a former CEO of the Bermuda International Business Association.

She said: “We serve clients as a resource for results-driven strategy and action plans fully aligned with their business objectives. That can be for project planning and activation, corporate communications, thought leadership strategy or communicating for their diversity, equity and inclusion or ESG strategies.”

The firm also provides executive communications coaching services.

Ms Phillip-Fairn said: “I’ve worked with and coached many people who are technically brilliant but need support to build their public speaking and communications skills. Our coaching is one-on-one, discreet and highly customised. It identifies needs and issues with presenting or public speaking specific to the individual, and how to address them over a period of time. We can also provide help with prep for specific major presentations or pitches.”

She said editing, copywriting and content development is also part of the company’s services portfolio. Support is provided for short- and long-term assignments.

“For example, I’ve been working as part of a project team since last September on a major event that will take place this fall. This is in addition to being able to work with coaches from client companies looking to boost communications skills in their management teams, and helping one client prepare for a TED talk they’ll be doing overseas later this year,” Ms Phillip-Fairn said.

She also said that leveraging technology has been part of the firm’s operations since inception.

“I worked for clients in Bermuda and overseas throughout lockdown leveraging technology. Technology also allows us to bring together project teams of quality producers, designers and writers who work to a high standard as needed, focused on specific project needs.”

Pat Phillip-Fairn was previously chief product and experiences development officer at the BTA. Before that she was deputy director and head of corporate governance and communications at the BMA.

She said her leadership roles have covered major aspects of Bermuda’s economy, from tourism to international business and financial regulation.

Ms Phillip-Fairn said: “The lockdowns we’ve all endured over the past 18 months ended up providing time and space to reflect and re-evaluate the next phase of my life. I determined my experience and skills can still be of service, focused on supporting my clients’ success. It’s hugely exciting to be able to do this work.”
