Archibald named managing director of Rosewood Bermuda
Hospitality veteran Andrew Archibald has been appointed as the managing director of Rosewood Bermuda.
He succeeds Sascha Hemmann, who has held the post for the past four years.
Mr Archibald comes to the island from the Carlyle in New York, which he joined in 2020 as hotel manager, progressing to the post of interim managing director for six months.
Rosewood said in a letter to members that his well-rounded hospitality experience in the United States, Britain and Australia, and previous roles at The Mandarin Oriental New York City and The Ritz Hotel in London, brings a wealth of knowledge to the property.
It added that his tenure as resort manager of Meadowood Resort and Spa (in Napa Valley, California) has given him great experience in exclusive membership clubs.
Rosewood said his passion for golf and being well versed in technology give him a great edge in today's club market.
Mr Archibald said: “It is an honour to be joining the prestigious Rosewood Bermuda and Tucker's Point Club and I look forward to embracing the history of the island and the club itself.
“It is humbling to be given the opportunity to grow and take a leadership role in Bermuda and continue this journey with Rosewood. It is exciting to work with new associates and learn and share with them to ensure we continue to strive to be our best.
“I look forward in due course to meeting all our members. Please don't hesitate to make yourselves known when you see me on property."
A Rosewood spokesman added: “With the excitement of the announcement of the newly appointed managing director, comes a fond farewell to Sascha Hemmann, who has led us with confidence over the last four years.
“Sascha saw the club and resort successfully through the pandemic, and has been vital to the continuing improvement, revitalisation and reinvestment into all areas of the club.
“He leaves Andrew with a strong, well-versed and galvanised team who will truly miss his leadership, passion and innovation. We are all better individuals for having made the journey with him over the last four years.”
Mr Hemmann is to join Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, near Salzburg in Austria.
