Two of the island’s hotels have got top awards in the latest Michelin Guide.

The Loren Hotel, at Pink Beach in Tucker’s Town, and Rosewood Tucker’s Point, in Hamilton Parish, received Michelin Keys for the first time for outstanding visitor experience.

Inspectors awarded nearly 500 hotels with their very first key after a yearlong search for new additions.

Both Bermuda hotels have a one-key distinction while 18 new three-keys take their place at the very top of the selection.

A Michelin spokesman said: “Inspectors find a hotel scene in 2026 ready to meet an increasingly flexible and open-minded modern traveller.

“No longer do hotel guests hit the road strictly for business or leisure, but increasingly for both, laptops in hand.

“Rough-luxury experiences, from tented rooms to trailers in the wilderness, are increasingly popular. And deeply private accommodations, from tiny, five-room-or-less hotels to private villas, are in high demand.”

He added: “In the 1920s, the Michelin Guide made its first hotel recommendations — and hotels have been part of our guides in Europe and Asia ever since.

“But just six years ago, we began a comprehensive refresh of our hotel selection, with a mission to provide a complete travel resource.

“Explore the guide on our website or mobile app and you'll find a definitive, ever-evolving list of the world's most memorable restaurants and hotels, all in one place, all accompanied by tips and analysis from our inspectors.”

He explained the key distinction in the awards by saying: “After selecting thousands of hotels worldwide, it is our privilege to specially highlight the crème de la crème of our selection.

“All Michelin Guide hotels excel in design, architecture, service and personality — the Michelin Key denotes the most outstanding experiences in our selection.”
