Bermudian-based airline BermudAir has added three new local partners for in-flight services.

Confections, Bermuda Trail Mix and Bermuda Gin Company are the latest suppliers providing products for the airline’s food and beverage offerings.

BermudAir founder and chief executive Adam Scott said. “Our local partners help us to represent Bermuda authentically in flight and on the ground.”

Bermuda Trail Mix, which will be available in both cabins in March, specialises in locally inspired and prepared trail mixes and granolas. Entrepreneur and CEO Mo’nique Stevens says that the company aims to give customers the best variety of flavours designed to bring them back for more.

Founded by lifelong baker Allison Smith, Confections, based in St George, is a boutique gourmet cookie bakery specialising in presenting the traditional Bermuda sugar cookie in distinctive, beautiful packaging.

“We are truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to partner with BermudAir and have our cookies attain new heights,” Ms Smith said. “It’s our hope that our cookies will provide a delicious introduction to Bermuda for our visitors, and a sweet and nostalgic taste of home for our travelling residents.”

Bermuda Gin Company will provide products to BermudAir as of March 29, when the airline will be launching a new in-flight menu.

Headed by founder and CEO Roy Fellowes, the company’s existing products are its Pink House Gin and White Roof Gin. Bermuda Gin Company is also the Bermudian-licensed operator of ecoSpirits, a global firm that has developed the world’s first low-carbon, low-waste, reusable packaging system for premium spirits and wine.

BermudAir will be the first airline in the world to incorporate this system in its operations.

BermudAir marked the new partnerships on Valentine’s Day by surprising passengers on all flights with customised cookies and cocktails on board. The fun celebrations included having mixologist and Bermuda Gin Company brand ambassador Aaron Mattis-Robinson prepare the customised “Hibiscus 75” Pink House gin cocktail in-flight, which all passengers were able to sample.

BermudAir’s other local food and beverage partners include Ahmani’s Cookie Company, Bermuda Craft Brewing, Butterfield and Vallis, Gosling’s and L’Artisan bakery.
