A new initiative aimed at supporting tech founders of Caribbean descent is inviting Bermudian entrepreneurs to join its first cohort.

The Caribbean Venture Collective, launched in March, is offering an equity-free fellowship for early-stage start-up founders who are either from the Caribbean or for those building companies in key sectors linked to the region’s future, including climate tech, fintech, healthtech and tourism.

The fellowship includes mentorship, investor access and a demo day.

New York-born Mita Carriman, cofounder of the Collective and a Caribbean-American entrepreneur, has parents from Jamaica and Grenada.

The founder of Adventurely, a marketplace for coworking day passes, said: “Caribbean Venture Collective hopes to unite our global strength into tangible opportunities for founders.”

Trinidad-born Smith is the founder of Keepingly, a platform that helps homeowners manage and store homeownership documents.
