Minister congratulates certified professionals
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, congratulated 20 professionals who have obtained fresh credentials.
The industry-recognised certifications were obtained through the Solar Photovoltaic Certificate Programme and the Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence.
During a presentation ceremony, Mr Hayward highlighted the significance of these programmes in supporting Bermuda’s workforce development and advancing national sustainability goals. He said: “These accomplishments are a testament to the Government's commitment to advancing Bermuda's workforce, empowering our people and creating a sustainable future.”
Ten nationally certified electricians completed the six-week Solar Photovoltaic Certificate Programme, delivered in partnership with the Electronics Technicians Association. The programme provided a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in solar and electrical systems.
All ten graduates are now ETA-certified and actively employed, contributing to Bermuda's renewable energy sector.
Additionally, ten individuals completed the Pace Programme, a 12-week training initiative designed to equip administrative professionals with the skills and credentials in high demand across Bermuda's business community.
To date, 45 participants aged 21 to 49 have completed the Pace Programme, with 40 now employed in the field.
Mr Hayward praised the dedication and expertise of the programme facilitators, William Spriggs, Joseph Weeks and Michael Wells, in supporting the participants’ success.
He said: “These milestones underscore the importance of the goals outlined in Bermuda's Youth Employment Strategy and Economic Development Strategy. Investing in our young men and women continues to strengthen the local workforce, inspire confidence among industry stakeholders and create opportunities in high-demand occupations.
“These certifications are more than just credentials; they are the foundation of empowerment, innovation and opportunity for people across our island.”
