The Economic Development Department will host the latest instalment in its 2025 fintech Webinar Series next Friday, spotlighting blockchain innovation and its real-world applications.

The virtual session, taking place on May 16 will feature Fabiano Izzo and Diana Levytska of AstraKode, a technology firm specialising in blockchain-based development platforms.

The session will introduce attendees to blockchain theory and explore the technology’s growing use across the financial sector. AstraKode will present a use case focused on its blockchain notary service developed for a Swiss financial institution, and an additional example involving microfinance.

“This session exemplifies our commitment to economic diversification, digital transformation and positioning Bermuda as a jurisdiction of choice for innovative, ethical and impactful technology solutions,” said Ray Jones, the director of the EDD.

The EDD said the webinar is part of the Government’s broader strategy to promote public engagement and international collaboration within Bermuda’s growing fintech ecosystem.

It also aligns with Bermuda’s Economic Development Strategy, which aims to attract strategic partnerships, generate new business opportunities and promote digital skills among residents.
