Ascot Group has appointed Steven Goldman as its new global head of distribution, a newly created role designed to enhance the company’s service and broker relationships across key markets including Bermuda.

Mr Goldman, who brings more than 25 years of industry experience, will join Ascot on July 7, and will be based in Stamford, Connecticut. He will report directly to Jonathan Zaffino, group chief executive and president.

“With the introduction of this role, Ascot is strengthening our commitment to best-in-class service, expanding our global market presence and deepening our longstanding relationships with existing broker partners,” said Mr Zaffino. “Steve is both highly attuned to the risk challenges our speciality clients face in an increasingly volatile world and brings a tremendous track record of successful industry leadership to Ascot.”

Ascot has maintained a strong presence in Bermuda’s reinsurance and speciality market for over two decades.

Mr Goldman joins Ascot from CNA, where he most recently served as president of global management and professional liability. He previously held senior leadership roles at Chubb Group, overseeing a $3.5 billion portfolio, and began his career underwriting transactional risk products at AIG.

In his new role, he will lead the development and execution of Ascot’s global distribution strategy, supporting the company’s mission to be “a perfect partner for a less-than-perfect world”.
