Ignite opens applications for 10th accelerator cohort
Ignite Bermuda has launched applications for its 10th entrepreneurial accelerator programme, offering local innovators a free, five‑month journey of mentorship, networking and business support.
From July 7 to July 25, entrepreneurs across sectors, including start-ups, social ventures, blue economy, and healthcare are encouraged to apply at ignitebermuda.com. Finalists will gain access to workshops, expert-led coaching and workspace at the Ignite Hub.
Ignite’s impact is growing steadily. Since its May 2019 launch, the accelerator has supported more than 600 entrepreneurs and helped create hundreds of local jobs.
This year’s accelerator offers targeted support to innovators in marine and health sectors through partnerships with the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme and the Bermuda Health Council.
Bopp-backed blue economy entrepreneurs address sustainable marine tourism, fisheries, clean energy and ocean technologies. Meanwhile, the council seeks solutions for mental health, non‑communicable diseases and services for Bermuda’s ageing population.
An open house event is scheduled for July 17 at 5:15 pm at Ignite Hub on Wesley St, giving potential applicants a chance to meet the team and hear first-hand from Ignite alumni. RSVP is requested via hello@ignitebermuda.com.
Murray W. Scott, an entrepreneur, praised the programme as one of the “best experiences” of his business career.
Michelle Jackson shared that Ignite “transformed both my business and my mindset as an entrepreneur,” helping turn ambitious visions into tangible results.
With demand high and acceptance limited, Ignite continues to be oversubscribed each year. The ninth cohort alone received substantial applications and featured blue economy pitches supported by Bopp. Programme leaders say Ignite remains committed to sparking diverse, locally impactful innovation.
