Fidelis marks ten years with 4,000% growth in premiums
The Fidelis Partnership and Fidelis Insurance Group are celebrating the tenth anniversary of Fidelis, the Bermudian-based speciality insurance business.
Founded in 2015 by Richard Brindle, an underwriting pioneer, Fidelis has achieved remarkable growth in just a decade. Gross premiums written have surged from $102 million in its first year to $4.6 billion in 2025 (more than 4,000 per cent), while its business lines expanded from 43 in 2017 to in excess of 100 today.
The company underwent a landmark restructuring in 2023, separating into two entities: The Fidelis Partnership, a managing general underwriter led by Mr Brindle, and Fidelis Insurance Group, a public company led by Dan Burrows, the chief executive.
“At this significant milestone for both businesses, we are delighted to be celebrating a decade of sustained growth and outstanding underwriting performance through the cycle,” Mr Brindle said. “This momentum has been built upon an unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our clients and broker partners through nimble, creative and cutting-edge underwriting solutions.”
Notable achievements in the past year include the launch of Syndicate 3123, writing $200 million in gross premiums in its first six months, and the growth of Pine Walk, The Fidelis Partnership’s MGA platform, which houses 13 specialist entities.
Mr Burrows added: “Our DNA is underwriting excellence and innovation, underpinned by smart capital management. We continue to demonstrate the benefits of our capital strength, scale and lead positioning.”
