PVC Windows & Doors forced to relocate
After 30 years on Serpentine Road, Pembroke PVC Windows & Doors is moving house.
Sales manager Adam Hall said the firm selling windows, doors and fencing was given 30 days to move when their building was purchased.
Island Pantry, which shares the building, also had to relocate.
Mr Hall said the move was rushed, but they hold no animosity towards the new owners, who have not been named publicly.
“We asked for an extra 30 days and were granted it,” Mr Hall said.
PVC Windows & Doors will close their present location on August 31 and reopen on September 2.
Their new address will be 13 Tumkins Lane, behind Butterfield & Vallis.
There will be no interruption in service.
“It will be a smooth transition,” Mr Hall said. “We will just be taking everything out of one showroom and reinstalling it in the new one.”
Mr Hall did not know who had purchased 5 Serpentine Road, but said their landlord had been Pembroke Tile & Stone.
“Although the news that we had to move came as a surprise, we are taking it as a positive, and a new chapter,” Mr Hall said.
After upgrades such as fresh paint and new flooring, 13 Tumkins Lane will offer more square footage, including a slightly bigger showroom and more parking for clients.
“We will no longer have to share a parking lot with two other businesses,” Mr Hall said. “This move is definitely a plus.”
PVC Windows & Doors is owned by a group of shareholders, including Stephen Pearse.
