Digicel hosts SkillCraft students
Digicel Bermuda hosted 16 students as part of the SkillCraft Bermuda programme, offering them an immersive experience in telecommunications.
SkillCraft is a career-exploration initiative designed to expose high school students to real-world roles in various industries, helping them build confidence, skills and professional networks.
From retail and marketing to engineering and human resources, students were given a rare look at the fast-paced world of connectivity and innovation.
As part of the day’s activities, students were given welcome packs and participated in a friendly competition to interview soca artist V’ghn, ahead of his performance at the Soca vs Reggae concert.
Digicel said students demonstrated creativity, media skills and confidence.
Tazaiah Raynor, Digicel Bermuda’s marketing executive, said: “We were blown away by the energy, intelligence and professionalism of these young people.”
She said SkillCraft is a powerful initiative and that the students showed tenacity, curiosity and a strong work ethic.
“They are the future, and we are honoured to play a part in their journey,” she said. “At Digicel, we are proudly Bermudian, which means investing in our youth and uplifting the next generation of local leaders.”
Margot Shane, cofounder and programme director of SkillCraft Bermuda, thanked Digicel for the opportunity.
“We are incredibly grateful to Digicel Bermuda for opening their doors to our students,” she said. “They had an amazing day — learning, exploring and growing. Partnerships like this are what makes SkillCraft so impactful.”
