Accountants to give away 500 backpacks
Chartered Professional Accountants of Bermuda will hold its second back-to-school drive on Saturday.
This community-focused initiative will distribute 500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, helping students start the new academic year prepared and confident, the organisation said in a press release.
The event will offer a bouncy castle, games, creative activities and food vendors.
“Our back-to-school drive is more than just a giveaway. It is about ensuring that every child has the tools they need to succeed and build a sense of community pride,” said Jozelle Opoku, president and chief executive of CPA Bermuda. “By creating these moments of support and connection, we hope to inspire young minds and remind families that the accounting profession is deeply invested in their future.”
The event was designed to provide practical help for students and highlight the important role that accountants play in Bermuda’s economic and social health.
“By hosting an event that blends generosity with community engagement, CPA Bermuda is helping to spark interest in the profession among young people while strengthening ties with the broader public,” the organisation stated.
“We invite everyone to come out, enjoy the festivities and help us send Bermuda’s students back to school with confidence. Together, we can make a difference and celebrate the bright futures ahead.”
The event will be held on Saturday from 10am to 1pm on the Cabinet House lawn at 105 Front Street, Hamilton.
