Sarah Blair has been appointed head of employment at Conyers in a move meant to strengthen the firm’s employment and immigration practice, the law firm said today.

She has been on staff for six years, and Conyers said she brings a wealth of experience in employment and regulatory law, dispute resolution and data protection.

She regularly handles matters for clients before the Employment Tribunal and the Human Rights Tribunal and advises on a broad range of non-contentious matters including contracts, incentive and benefit plans, workplace investigations, policies and immigration issues.

In the wake of Bermuda’s implementation of privacy laws in January 2025, Ms Blair has made herself an expert on the Personal Information Protection Act 2016 and also helped clients develop privacy programmes to meet their regulatory obligations.

Her expertise spans multiple industries, including reinsurance, insolvency, hospitality, education, technology and healthcare. Her practice also supports clients through corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on managing employment and regulatory considerations.

Christian Luthi, chairman and director at Conyers, stated: “Sarah has established herself as a trusted and reliable adviser in the firm’s employment and immigration practice. Her leadership, expertise and client-focused approach reflect our firm’s values and with her leadership we fully expect our employment practice to continue to grow.”

Conyers’ employment practice advises on all aspects of the employment life cycle, from recruitment and immigration to termination and disputes, including mediation and arbitration and competition. The team has significant experience handling contentious and non-contentious matters, including employment contracts, benefits, workplace policies, investigations and regulatory compliance. The team also advises clients on privacy matters in the workplace, including employee access requests.

Ms Blair stated: “I am honoured to take on this role and to lead the Bermuda employment team. Employment law is a dynamic and ever-evolving area, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to deliver practical advice that helps our clients manage their people and regulatory obligations with confidence.”
