Financial literacy draws large crowd
After a well-supported Financial Literacy Summit, the Lumina Festival will return next May with smaller gatherings leading up to the 2026 event.
More than 500 high school and college students, clients of the Department of Financial Assistance and other “dreamers, builders and doers” attended an event last month that “tackled a variety of financial literacy topics and the growing wealth disparity in Bermuda”.
The post-mortem statement concluded: “Students who attended the summit described their experiences as overall positive with several networking opportunities and engaging presentations and stated that the core financial literacy concepts addressed were relevant to where they are in their journeys to financial freedom.”
Zach Wilson, chief executive and founder of the festival, said: “What began as a vision to bridge financial literacy and cultural empowerment has already sparked momentum across Bermuda, bringing together students, professionals and community leaders in a dynamic space of learning and inspiration.”
With panels, workshops and keynotes led by local trailblazers, and set against the backdrop of a one-day summit, the group said it is excited for what comes next.
