College launches corporate governance programme

The new course provides a grounding in how organisations are structured, managed and regulated, with an emphasis on financial management, law and compliance frameworks

Bermuda College has introduced a new professional course aimed at helping students begin careers in corporate governance.

The Corporate Governance Foundation’s programme offers a structured pathway into the field, preparing students for the Chartered Governance Institute qualifying programme.

According to the college, the course provides a grounding in how organisations are structured, managed and regulated, with an emphasis on financial management, law and compliance frameworks.

The full programme is divided into four components: Introducing the Business Environment, Introduction to Corporate and Business Law, Principles of Company Compliance and Administration and Introduction to Finance and Accounting.

Participants who complete all modules will acquire practical skills in company incorporation, compliance, governance structures and financial documentation, all of which are considered essential for roles such as company secretary.

Examinations for the foundation’s programme will be offered twice a year, in June and November.

The first course begins November 26 and will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm through December 17.

Registration and additional information are available by e-mailing the Athora Division of Professional and Career Education at apace@college.bm.
