Deloitte Bermuda has made the holidays brighter for 11 families with a $20,000 donation to the Family Centre.

The funds provide the families with an all-encompassing holiday experience including children’s gifts, grocery gift cards, Belco credits, Gibbons Company vouchers and a Christmas meal from the MarketPlace.

The Family Centre is a local charity focused on supporting families across Bermuda.

It delivers no-cost mental health counselling for children, adolescents and their families, in addition to community outreach and advocacy programmes.

Committed to removing barriers to care, the Family Centre works to promote healing, hope and connection, helping to create a healthier future for Bermuda’s children.

Family Centre director of counselling services, Susan Richardson said they were grateful to Deloitte for their generosity and continued partnership over the years.

“This year, their donation ensured that 11 of our families experiencing significant financial hardship enjoyed Christmas, with gifts that thoughtfully reflected both their wishes and basic needs,” she said. “The care shown by Deloitte staff was touching and many families expressed heartfelt gratitude for being selected and supported in such a meaningful way.”

Jimmy Caplice, partner and chair of corporate social responsibility committee, Deloitte Bermuda, said his company believed in giving back in ways that made a real difference.

“Supporting families through the Family Centre reflects our commitment to helping ensure children and parents have the resources, care and support they need, especially during the holidays,” he said. “We are proud of our teams who came together to turn this contribution into a meaningful experience for local families.”

This is the seventh year Deloitte Bermuda has partnered with the Family Centre.

“Through this initiative, we aim to make a positive impact while helping to spread hope and expand access to essential services during the holiday season,” Deloitte Bermuda chief executive John Johnston said.

Sandy De Silva, the Family Centre’s executive director, said Deloitte’s generosity reflected the very best of corporate citizenship in Bermuda.

“Their continued support of our adopt-a-family initiative goes far beyond gifts,” Dr De Silva said. “It sends a powerful message of care to families navigating real financial and emotional challenges.”

She said the Family Centre was deeply thankful to Deloitte and its team for consistently showing up with compassion and heart and for helping ensure families supported through their counselling services experienced relief and joy during the holidays.
