Chamber discussion to focus on global shifts

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 annual general meeting and luncheon will circle around the theme of global shifts, local impact and workforce considerations in a changing world.

The event sponsored by KPMG in Bermuda, will be held on April 23 from 12pm to 2.30pm at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

Bringing together business leaders, policymakers and industry professionals, the event will explore how evolving geopolitical dynamics are reshaping Bermuda’s economic environment-impacting trade, supply chains, workforce availability, regulatory frameworks and the overall cost of doing business.

Stefano Moritsch, global geopolitics lead at KPMG International, will deliver a keynote presentation providing global insights and context for local decision-making.

The meeting will also feature a high-level geopolitics panel and question and answer, bringing together key voices from government, economics and the business community, including: Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, Douglas DeCouto, the Shadow Minister of Finance, economist Craig Simmons, Colin Anderson, director of policy and Regulation for the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers and Marico Thomas, president of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.

This discussion will provide a balanced and candid exchange of perspectives on how global developments are translating into real implications for Bermuda’s workforce and business landscape.

The annual general meeting component will include a formal review of the Chamber’s activities, progress and strategic priorities.

Chamber chief executive Jennifer Woods said: “In an increasingly interconnected world, global developments are no longer distant, they are directly influencing how businesses in Bermuda operate, hire and grow.”

She said this year’s meeting is designed to equip their members and stakeholders with the insight, context and practical understanding needed to navigate these shifts and make informed decisions.
