Conyers has promoted three lawyers to counsel and one to senior associate in Bermuda as part of a global round of advancements across the offshore law firm’s international offices.

The firm said the promotions recognise professional excellence and support the development of its next generation of leaders across key practice areas.

The Bermuda promotions to counsel include Satjivan Aujla in the private client and trust practice, subject to immigration approval, along with Andrew Barnes and Alexis Haynes in the corporate team.

Mr Aujla advises on the creation and restructuring of trust structures and high-value international private wealth disputes, as well as trustee duties. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Mr Barnes’ practice spans general corporate and commercial work, including structured finance, securitisations, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions. He also has a strong regulatory focus, advising on privacy and data protection under Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act, as well as banking, telecommunications, sanctions and anti-money laundering compliance.

Ms Haynes advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including cross-border financing, mergers and acquisitions, investment funds and regulatory compliance.

In addition, Jacari Brimmer-Landy was promoted to senior associate in the corporate practice. He joined Conyers in 2018 as a trainee, qualifying in October 2019.

His practice includes all aspects of general corporate and commercial law, including cross-border corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, amalgamations, shipping, aviation, insurance and compliance and regulatory matters.
