Corey Lewis and Mya Smith represented Bermuda Motors at the Elliott Parish Primary School annual career fair.

They joined a range of community professionals last month in engaging with students aged five to 11, who rotated through the hall asking questions and learning about different career paths.

Mr Lewis, a tradesman, focused on the electrical demonstration, encouraging hands-on participation by allowing students to connect the wires themselves, sparking eager interest among students.

The technicians aimed to provide students with insight into problem solving, technical skills, and opportunities within the automotive industry.

Ms Smith, vehicle dismantler and parts department assistant, led the engine and turbo demonstration, guiding students as they used tools to assemble and disassemble various components.

She explained the purpose and function of each part while assisting students in safely using the tools and completing tasks they found challenging.

Reflecting on the experience, Mr Lewis said: “This was one of the highlights of my day. The students were very appreciative and told us we did a great job. It was nice to hear, especially as the pace was quite busy and a bit overwhelming at times. I can speak for both Mya and myself in saying we had a lot of fun.”
