Kyra Adams is the latest Frontier Scholarship winner. Ms Adams, is a Bermudian studying economics at the University of Vermont. Frontier was impressed by Ms Adams’ work ethic, commitment towards her studies and professional aspirations.

Frontier chief executive Derek Winch said the firm is deeply committed to growing and supporting Bermudian accounting talent from the ground up.

“We are now in our third year of the Frontier Scholarship programme with three award recipients actively working towards obtaining their professional accounting designations,” Mr Winch said. “It is a tremendous honour and a testament to the high-quality talent Bermuda has in its ranks being able to support such incredible post secondary students as they pursue their respective paths to professional accountancy. We are similarly honoured to be part of Kyra’s journey this year.”

The scholarship is awarded in conjunction with accounting firm KPMG.

KPMG partner and Lift-Off Programme chair, Steve Woodward, congratulated Ms Adams.

“We look forward to welcoming her into KPMG’s Lift-Off Programme,” Mr Woodward said. “She will gain valuable experience as an intern during her studies and then as a full-time staff accountant once she graduates from university.”

As the Frontier Scholarship recipient, Ms Adams will also be attending KPMG’s Global Advantage networking event in Prague next summer.

“We really appreciate Frontier’s support in funding their scholarship and in continuing to promote the development of the accounting profession in Bermuda,” Mr Woodward said.

The Frontier Scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year (for up to three years) for a Bermudian undergraduate or postgraduate student pursuing a professional accounting designation.

The award also includes an invitation to an exciting and rewarding career through KPMG Bermuda’s highly successful Lift-Off Programme, full-time employment and a future full of professional opportunities.
