Cody seeks more glory in US event
Promising Grand Prix motorbike rider Cody Sousa-Saints will look to better his recent performances abroad when he competes at the New Jersey MotorSports Park in Millville, New Jersey this weekend.The ‘Outstanding Teen Award in Sports’ winner will be looking to continue his rise in the sport when he races today and tomorrow.Today sees an endurance race followed by a series of events tomorrow to end the weekend.His mother, Alicia, is optimistic that her son can continue improving in the sport after recently severing ties with local team, Team Tuned, and enjoyed a promising weekend last month in South Carolina.“I think that given his previous track race in April, he’ll do amazingly well,” said Sousa-Saints. “He is a natural talent and he’s catching the eye of many people on the race circuit in the US.“He’s already been approached for next season to race under a team and train to race the following season in AMA.“I think that his performances thus far are outstanding and completely mind blowing.“The competition this weekend will be fierce but we have high hopes for his continued success.”Sousa-Saints was invited to join a team for the endurance cometition that consists of four racers, racing for two hours. Each rider takes their turn on the track.“The team asked him to be part of it and have high hopes that they’ll win or be very close to the top after the racing.”Sousa-Saints rose to fame on the local circuit and already has a formidable CV.Included in his list of achievements are competing in the Red Bull Indianapolis GP last year with former team-mate Bruce DeGrilla jr., while recently he claimed two top five finishes in the CCS (Championship Cup Series), in Homestead, Florida where he rode a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 cc in the Expert Class for the first time.
