Shane Madeiros and Joshua Holder rule in Hamilton Harbour
Shane Madeiros and co-pilot Joshua Holder stamped their authority in Hamilton Harbour as powerboat racing made a spectacular return to the island’s capital on Sunday.
The duo came away with an impressive clean sweep of victories in the two races contested in the ‘A’ class to stretch their lead in the overall national championship.
“A great day and also a great day for the spectators ashore,” Madeiros told The Royal Gazette.
“I Loved the course and it was a nice little tight circuit track to test everybody’s driving skills and Devil’s Isle Racing came out on top of the day again. Thanks to Talbot Enterprises and Harbourside Marine.”
Ryan Resendes and rival driver Steven Meireles split honours in the ‘B’ class while Howard Ascento and Andrew Cottingham did likewise in the ‘D’ class. Jody and Tony Carreiro were the only team represented in the ‘C’ class.
A-class races consisted of six laps and were held in conjunction with the annual Bermuda Charge Motor Fest on Front Street, which proved to be another huge success.
“Shout out to the committee and Bermuda Charge for putting on the event,” Madeiros said. “I think it went off without a hitch and it was a glorious day.”
