Rough-N-Ready Racing feel California Love
Rough-N-Ready Racing ended the 2025 California Independent Funny Car season in a blaze of glory after powering their way to victory in the Thunder Under the Lites at Redding Motorsports Park in California.
With driver Tony Trimp behind the wheel of their 1965 Mustang GT funny car, the Bermudian-owned amateur drag racing team captured the 7.0 Pro class title to bring their season full circle after also winning the season-opening Kool April Drags at the same racetrack in May.
It was their third win of the campaign after also racing to success in the Funny Car Fever and Nostalgia Reunion.
Rough-N-Ready Racing have enjoyed considerable success over the years, winning four CIFCA titles as well as the National Hot Rod Association-sanctioned California Hot Rod Reunion and Good Vibrations Motorsports March Meet at the Famosa Dragstrip in Bakersfield, California.
Williams is the son of late sailor Harvey Sr and a great-nephew of late road running legend Stanley Burgess.
Originated in 1984, the CIFCA is a West Coast drag racing association that specialises in affordable funny car shows.
Its membership boasts more than 36 teams, the majority of which compete in funny cars powered by supercharged, alcohol engines, which usually last a complete season between teardowns.
Approximately 1,200 horsepower is necessary for a 2,000lb funny car to able to run mid seven-second elapsed times in the quarter-mile.
Members compete for points, cash and contingencies and take great pride in their operations.
