Drivers dazzle in testing conditions
Drivers braved wet weather to deliver a thrilling day of racing during the fourth round of the Rubis Energy Karting Championship at Southside Motor Sports Raceway on Sunday.
Despite the steady rain and reduced visibility, drivers produced an electrifying show of high-speed drama as they battled slick conditions and close competition across all classes to keep spectators on the edge of their seats.
Jason ‘Skuzzie’ North was in unstoppable form as he stormed to victory in all three heats in the L206 class to record an impressive clean sweep.
North was among four drivers achieving the feat on the day which also included Ryan Burgess, Tanner Correia and Jason DeCouto. Burgess won every heat in the Tag Senior class, Correia in the Tag Junior class and DeCouto in the Shifter KZ Masters class.
Burgess also swept all three heats in the Shifter KZ class to finish with six victories, the most by any driver on the day.
Rising star Correia also had two wins in the Cadet class but was denied another sweep as the third heat was cancelled due to the rain.
