Team Bermuda top the Super Stock standings heading into the third and final race at the 2026 Key West World Championship in Key West, Florida today.

Driver David Selley and throttle man Steven Bridges are clinging to an eight-point advantage over nearest rival Celsius/Valvoline at the summit heading into the championship decider, which remains wide open with five teams within striking distance of glory.

“I wish we had a bit of a buffer, but we’re still in the lead going in,” Selley told The Royal Gazette.

“We know what we need to do, but there’s always a grey area in terms of decision making, so we’ll do the best we can and we’re ready.

“It’s double points, so if you do good you do really good, and if you do bad you shuffle back hard.

“I’m looking forward to it and want to get after it.”

The final race starts at 4pm Bermuda time.

After a seventh-place showing in the opening race on Wednesday, Selley and Bridges bounced back with their first ever victory at the championship in the second race on Friday to thrust themselves into the hunt for overall honours.

The pair’s previous best finish at the event was third, which they achieved in the penultimate race at last year’s event in Key West.

The island’s hopes of coming away with a world title under their belt at this year’s championship now rest solely on Selley and Bridges as fellow Bermuda team Nuff Said have already been eliminated from contention.

Nuff Said driver Luis Martins and throttle man Nick Imprescia won the shortened opening race but were hit with a severe lap penalty for colliding with a course buoy that dropped them down to fifteenth in the standings.

They managed a respectable seventh -place showing in the second race despite being hit by two rival boats, but the damage had already been done to their world title hopes.

Martins and Imprescia sit in ninth among the 16-boat fleet heading into today’s final race.
