The island logged its youngest coronavirus victim yesterday after a seven-year-old child tested positive.

The youngster was among three new cases recorded by health officials over the weekend.

The cases arrived in Bermuda from New York, London and Toronto.

The health ministry declined to say which flight the child was on.

The latest was a visitor off the British Airways flight last Thursday who was tested after they displayed symptoms.

Another case, a returned resident from the Air Canada flight from Toronto on October 16, tested positive on their day eight test.

Another resident, who flew in from New York on Jet Blue on October 14, also tested positive on the day eight test.

A health ministry spokeswoman said the cases were among 2,643 tests results that came back between October 23 and 25.

She added care isolation and contact tracing had started.

Bermuda has recorded a total of 193 confirmed cases.

There are 9 active cases, all of whom are under public health monitoring, but none are hospitalised.

A total of 175 have recovered and the death toll linked to Covid-19 remains at nine people.

The average age of confirmed cases is 55 and the age range is from 7 to 101.

The average age of fatalities is 74 and the age range is 57 to 91 years.

A total of 90 cases were on-island transmissions with a known contact and 21 were on-island transmissions with an unknown contact.

The number of cases that came in from overseas stands at 82.

None are under investigation.

Bermuda’s country status is “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average of the real time reproduction number is less than 1.
