Minister to meet seniors to discuss cost of living challenges
The Government is to hold a series of events to discuss the needs and concerns of seniors and how to find solutions as the elderly face “additional challenges in light of the rising cost of living”.
Tinee Furbert, the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, said: "These past two years have been challenging for many, especially our seniors.
“Now that we are moving beyond the pandemic, we have planned a series of events focused on the needs and concerns of our seniors.”
The minister added: "We understand that seniors are facing additional challenges in light of the rising cost of living.
“At this event, we plan to have an informative and engaging discussion about senior concerns and how we can access workable solutions.
“Attendees will participate in an interactive presentation, senior-focused discussion and a question and answer period."
The first “Talk and Tea" is scheduled for Friday, August 26, from 2pm to 4pm at St Paul's Church Hall in Paget.
The event has a limited capacity of 80. Participants must register their attendance with the ministry’s headquarters office at 444-2466 or e-mail email@example.com. Questions can also be submitted in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org.
