Barca seem to have Mourinho's number

The El Clasico served up everything that’s great about football. And while Real Madrid will be disappointed to have bowed out of the King’s Cup at the quarterfinal stage, Jose Mourinho’s side can take something from their 2-2 second leg at the Camp Nou.I thought Barcelona had it easy early on, they claimed the advantage by scoring two goals but then seemed to take their foot off the pedal, which allowed Madrid to fight their way back into the match.I’m sure Madrid didn’t want to lose that game, but in the end Barcelona go through on aggregate. To Barca’s credit, their first choice goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, wasn’t playing and they will be thrilled to continue their superb run of form against Madrid in recent times. As for Mourinho’s men, I don’t think are quite have it just yet and playing Pepe in the midfield isn’t the real solution either.I thought Barca’s defence looked a little frail when they were under pressure that’s the only way you can beat and expose them.I’ve always said that you never let great teams dictate to you, you have to dictate to them and if you let Barca do that then you will be put on the chopping board.I have to tip my hat to Liverpool for beat Manchester City in the League Cup semi-final. It wasn’t going to be easy but they stuck to what works and got the results.Regardless of the players City were missing through a number of reasons, Liverpool outworked them and thoroughly deserved the victory.City have their best player in Yaya Toure missing as his on duty at the African Cup of Nations and that will be a big blow until he comes back. I thought City were lucky to win against Tottenham, with Mario Balotelli stepping up from the penalty spot in injury time.I saw that Stoke City manager Tony Pulis believes the Premier League should introduce a "challenge system" for managers if they disagree with a referee's decision.Pulis believes it is possible to use television replays without slowing the flow of a matchNow, referees will always make mistakes but you don’t want these things costing your team a title of relegation, so there has to be a way to improve the situation. It seems like Arsenal are scared of Manchester United having watched their 2-1 defeat to the Red Devils last weekend.Arsenal created enough chances at the Emirates Stadium to win the game and if they would have taken them it would have been a different outcome. For some reason, United can eke out these results; I’m just surprised Arsene Wenger brought off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Andrea Arshavin, although he is very young.I would never question Wenger because he clearly knows what he is doing, just look at the players he has brought through and what he has done. It’s disappointing to see Senegal go out of the African Cup of Nations; they were one of the favourites, although sometimes it add to the spice of a competition when one of the so-called big boys crashed out early on.
