Visitors love the new look Swizzle South Shore
When Bernie and Margaret Ann Cikovic of Palm Beach, Florida decided to take a vacation in Bermuda in order to enjoy the sunshine, pink sand and turquoise ocean, they weren’t expecting to be greeted with gale force winds and rain showers.
“We don’t have too many chilly days in Palm Beach,” Mr. Cikovic said.
And when they awoke, prepared for a sun-filled day of wahoo fishing, they were disappointed by the lousy weather.
Undeterred, they took the advice of several locals and braved the storm to make their way to The Swizzle South Shore for their first taste of the island’s famous pub fare.
“It came highly recommended,” said Mr. Cikovic, as he perused the lunch menu.
“Although everyone was talking about the one at (Bailey’s Bay), but we didn’t want to go that far in this weather,” added Mrs. Cikovic.
Seated on the patio, wrapped in their raincoats, they enjoyed their meal despite the chill in the air and occasional sprinkle from the midday storm.
Their favourite part? “The Yellow Bird!”
