Bruins and Blues in 6-6 deadlock
Bruins 6 Blues 6
The Bruins and the Blues continued their storied rivalry with yet another very entertaining game in the InLine Hockey League last weekend. The teams have elevated their games to a new level this season and nothing was left behind in the last game before the holiday break.
Tucker Moore continued his torrid scoring pace opening the game with two straight unassisted markers to put the Blues ahead 2-0. Peter Miller joining the Bruins on a break from school overseas put the Bruins on the score sheet with a great low shot on the stick side. Keo Darrell followed that up to tie the score at two apiece. Play continued back and forth as the teams picked up the pace.
Moore continued his hot streak completing the hat-trick with a great pass from George Scully to move the Blues ahead by one. Scully then lit the lamp with an assist from Moore as it looked like the Blues might take control and make a move. The Bruins would have none of it as the line of Courtland Moore, Nathaniel Faries and Jonathan Chapman went on a roll and quickly answered back with goals from Cortland Moore and Faries, to tie the game at four each. Tucker Moore and Scully again combined on a great passing play which saw Moore streak down the left wing shift by the defenceman and put a deke on the goalie to put the Blues up by one again.
The lead did not last long as Faries answered back with a blast to the right corner which tied the game yet again as neither team was able to grab a strong hold on the game. Tucker Moore completed his scoring extravaganza with his fifth of the game to put the Blues up by one with only a few minutes to play. Miller would not let his team lose as he capped off a great game by netting the equaliser and putting the finish to a great hockey game.

Canadiens 8 Canucks 2
The fast skating Canadien squad extended their winning streak to two games with a nice win against the previously undefeated All-Girl Canucks. The game was close early on with Ryan Goddard opening the scoring on a nice unassisted effort at 5:15 of the opening frame. The Canucks jumped back in the fray with Lauren Daly's first goal of the season. Daly drilled a low shot into the short side after a couple of nice passes between Adrienne Miller and Inaara Lalani. The Canadiens then pressed the attack with significant pressure on guest goaltender Michelle "Mikey" Daly. Ryan Goddard continued his torrid recent scoring pace with his second, third and fourth goals of the game. Reid Orchard and Jaryd LaPointe both added a couple of nice assists in the first period scoring frenzy. The Canucks made a game of it in the final period with Julia Scully opening the scoring finishing off a nice three-way passing play with Paula Weech and Sierra Yit. The game remained tight for several minutes before the MacNeil brothers exploded for four unanswered goals, three by older brother Tyler and one individual end-to-end effort by swift-skating Riley. Tyler's goals were all a result of hard shots after some strong forechecking. Canadien goaltending duties were handled well by Krishna Boodram in the first period and Ryan Goodard in the second. Coach Tom MacNeil commented: "We are looking forward to extending our current winning streak when league action continues in the New Year!"

Oilers 6 Leafs 5
The Oilers rebounded from the previous week's loss by continuing their domination of the short-handed Leafs for their second win in two games against the Leafs. Once again the game featured fast skating, excellent goaltending and highlighted by several good individual scoring efforts. The Leafs started out strong with Taylor Ruck opening the scoring at 2:30 of the opening period with a nice effort jamming in his own rebound. Jaylen Martin added two more goals to push the lead to 3-0 with a pair of hard shots after receiving nice feeds from Mikey Daly. The Oilers finally got on the board with Adam Weech scoring on a nice deke of goaltender Tommy Ruck. Weech closed out the first period with his second goal at the buzzer tipping in a nice pass from Bradley Robinson.
The second period was characterised by intense checking from both squads with several players being helped off with minor scrapes. Sam Brook returned from his injury to send a nice cross-rink pass to Weech who flicked it over the new goaltender Connor Lines' shoulder for his hat-trick. The Leafs jumped back in the lead with two quick goals, one by Nicholas Hall and one by Mikey Daly. Hall's goal was a long hard screened shot that found the back of the net. Daly's strong forechecking forced an Oiler turnover which he drilled into the top corner of the net. Left wing Toby Brook took matters into his own hands by scoring three late unanswered goals to pull the game out for the Oilers for the first hat-trick of his young career. Toby's goals all came on nice individual efforts after good stops by Connor Lines who played well under pressure. Oiler goalie Ethan Philip made several key stops and finished the game with 12 saves. Leaf's coach Daly was upset about the loss and "declined to comment" about the officiating after the game.
l Bermuda InLine Hockey resumes play on January 7.
