Ferry good! Now there's a chance of a GP1 ride
PREMIER Alex Scott will continue his drive to promote sustainable development next week by travelling to work on a ferry.
And Mr. Scott also said a chauffeur-driven ride in GP1 with the Premier was also up for grabs through a Car Pool Raffle.
Next Wednesday Mr. Scott will catch a mini-bus from Granaway Heights, Southampton, before riding the 7.55 a.m. ferry into Hamilton from the Rockaway stop. In a similar publicity stunt last week, the Premier travelled into work by bus.
In a press statement yesterday, Mr. Scott (pictured)said: "This is not just about what the Government can do. In order for this plan to be successfully implemented it comes down to personal choices.
"I want to draw attention to the various options that we have available to us to reduce traffic congestion and I encourage the public of Bermuda to join me on Wednesday and use an alternative mode of transport to get to work.
"What a wonderful way to start the Cup Match holiday."
A second in a series of public meeting to discuss sustainable development proposals will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at the Bermuda Industrial Union Hall. The meeting will deal with the theme 'Transforming Governance and the Public Sector'.
Mr. Scott pointed out that only those attending the meetings will be eligible to enter the Car Pool Raffle and win a ride to and from work in the Premier's own limousine.
