Wanted: People of courage
IF you know of a hero who deserves to be honoured, then the Bermuda Bravery Awards Association wants to hear from you.
Association chairman Mark Selley reminded the public yesterday that he is looking for nominations of those who have shown selfless courage.
"We're looking for examples of people who have bravely saved, or attempted to save, someone's life, or maybe someone who tried to stop a robbery," Mr. Selley said.
"The committee will receive applications, consider them on their merits and select recipients of the awards."
Those honoured will receive cedar-framed certificates from Governor Sir John Vereker in an awards ceremony to be held at Government House in November.
The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, September 27, and people are urged to make their suggestions to Mr. Selley by calling him on 293-3121 or 334-8487.
