Animals must come first

Reading that story upset me deeply and without being overly judgmental I feel something needs to be said. What I don't think people take into consideration is the responsibility of pet ownership. When you get an animal you enter into an agreement with it to provide it with the necessary care and attention. These are living creatures that look to us for food and shelter and medical care in return for the unconditional love, companionship, and in some cases protection or tranportation they give to us, and if we are unwilling or unable to provide these things do not get a pet.

Dear Sir

Reading that story upset me deeply and without being overly judgmental I feel something needs to be said. What I don't think people take into consideration is the responsibility of pet ownership. When you get an animal you enter into an agreement with it to provide it with the necessary care and attention. These are living creatures that look to us for food and shelter and medical care in return for the unconditional love, companionship, and in some cases protection or tranportation they give to us, and if we are unwilling or unable to provide these things do not get a pet.

While I understand the necessity of going to work, I do not understand how anyone can look at an animal that is hurt like that and not provide it with help as quickly as possible almost every vet if not all of them have twenty-four hour emergency numbers for just such situations. Here's a test for everyone, if you can see your animal suffering and say anything else comes first, please find that animal another home because it does not fit in your lifestyle. It is unfair to allow any living thing to suffer unnecessarily because you can't find the time.

To all animal owners, when you look at your pets I hope you see what I see a very important member of my family who is deserving of my complete care and attention.
