AMID all the talk about the Premier's stupid and wasteful support of his son's charity event at the Playboy Manion everyone seems to have missed one fact.

Premier Brown wanted to support and attend his son's big night. Therefore, as Minister of Tourism, has arranged for Tourism to sponsor the event in a minor way so that he could get a free first class trip to see his son on his big night.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Government would pay the fares and the accommodation for all Bermuda's parents to attend their children's overseas events: graduations, weddings, celebrations, not to mention illnesses, bereavements, trials and tragedies.

Mr. Editor, it would be very interesting if we all knew more about Dr. Brown's family and his life in California.
