Challenge and adventure
Governor Sir John Vereker presented Duke of Edinburgh awards to youngsters at a ceremony on Tuesday.
The young people had all completed the four sections of the award which are service, physical recreation, adventurous journey and skill.
Donte Hunt, national director of the Duke of Edinburgh?s Award in Bermuda, said the scheme for those aged 14 to 25 was vital for helping youngsters get addicted to achieving.
?It?s a self-development programme that does more than just self-develop,? he said. ?It creates a sense of achievement, something which is addictive.
?I personally have seen how the awards have transformed persons on the ?cuff? of society especially. It helps enhance the chances of success for all who take part, but particularly those on the edges of society.?
