Drink left a bitter taste
January 27, 2002
Dear Sir,
I don't know the solution to Bermuda's Tourism woes, but I do live here and I observe life.
Recently, while flying to Boston we had occasion to patronise the bar at Bermuda International Airport, departure lounge. When I ordered my customary lemon and club soda I was taken aback at the brevity of the pour - and I've seen a few of these things poured!
I was informed that the measure was pre-set, I then informed her that it didn't have to be set at meagre. The response was that some people like their drinks weak. I went away to consume my libation and ponder life. As I finished my drink in time to begin the now mandatory pre-pre-board there was an odd aftertaste for an expensive drink. I guess I'll have to carry my hip flask again, and make the ice and soda shop stop.
