Expo to pay tribute to Shaun and Kalmar
PROFESSIONAL footballer Shaun Goater and top educator Kalmar Richards will be two of those highlighted in a tribute this evening to the public education system.
That will form part of the Educational / Environmental Expo at CedarBridge Academy, a joint presentation by the Ministry of Education and the Eden Project.
The event starts at 8 p.m. today and continues all day tomorrow.
Mr. Goater, whose career in English football professional football has spanned 15 years, and Ms Richards, the principal of CedarBridge Academy, will be among those mentioned this evening, as prominent Bermudians who came through public schools.
Also featured will be ACE Insurance's vice-president of human resources, Pandora Wright, and barber Ricky Spence.
The public will also get the chance to learn about plans for the future of the public education system and to put questions to officials.
Taking centre stage tomorrow will be student debates on environmental themes and topics as diverse as teen violence and Bermuda's cultural heritage will also be discussed.
Other displays and presentations will include an eco-movie from the National History Museum in New York and discussions about alternative medicines.
The Eden Project is owned by the Eden Trust, a charity promoting improved understanding of our environment internationally.
