Dear Sir,

Please allow me space in your column to express the hilarity of L.G. Tarita Rawlins' letter in today's .

First off it was a good way to start off my Friday with a laugh at how people pervert things in their mind and then chastise people for it.

First of all the pantomime was great, the actors were well spoken and it was a hit overall.

What makes me laugh is how the writer viewed the play as homosexual. I don't know how well educated she is but in the early 1600s all of the roles in Shakespeare's plays were played by men, even the women's parts (stop gasping, I know it's a shock) even in Romeo and Juliet; Juliet's part was played by a man.

A play is an act, its actors following a script, its not making some kind of political statement or trying to sway people's views on sexuality. If it was I am sure that there would be a sign saying so.

The world is not obsessed with homosexuality. It is people like you who want to butt into people's life and be righteous and tell people it is wrong to love someone.

I am sure that if you hadn't made a fuss over who was playing what part and just explained to your child that they are only acting, he/she wouldn't be shocked and possibly appreciate it for what it is ? acting.
