Legal eagles are flying high
Stephanie Henderson is the recipient of this year's $25,000 Appleby Spurling and Kempe legal education scholarship.
Ms Henderson completed her postgraduate certificate in legal studies through the University of Durham in 2001. The feat earned her entrance into BBP Law School this September to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC). She also holds a BA (Hons) in Law and Politics through the University of Durham and an International Baccalaureate through United World College of the Pacific.
In addition to the $25,000 scholarship, Appleby Spurling and Kempe also awarded four bursaries to Bermudian students pursuing studies in law.
Angela Atherden, Keiva Marione, Wendy Richardson and Michael Roache received undisclosed amounts specific to their individual needs.
Ms Atherden will be entering the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice next month. She completed her LLB at the University of Buckingham. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Ms Marione is currently pursuing an LLB at the University of Kent at Canterbury. Prior to entering the law programme, Ms Marione completed the University of Kent's General Foundation Course for Humanities and Social Sciences.
Wendy Richardson is at the University of Kent at Canterbury pursuing an LLB. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia, Canada and Michael Roache will begin the law programme at the University of Nottingham next month. He already holds a Bachelor of Business Administration through Trent University in Ontario, Canada.
