LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Penalising success
March 20, 2005
Dear Sir,
It would appear that Canon Tilson has been made a victim of his own work ethic.
He works diligently, showing unconditional love to all with whom he makes contact.
He clearly loves his job and others are drawn to become a part of the Holy Trinity Church family. He demonstrates the characteristics of a sincere, down-to-earth Christian and others try to emulate those same characteristics.
Unfortunately, he has simply done too much and has worked too hard.
In so doing, the pews at Holy Trinity Church are becoming uncomfortably full and our Anglican hierarchy has had enough, instead of wanting more! Canon Tilson has become a bitter pill to swallow, not by us here at Holy Trinity Church, I hasten to add. Consequently, he must go because he has been with us for too long, says our Anglican hierarchy. (Perhaps they are unaware that the Employment Act does not say that if you succeed you will be asked to quit your post).
After all, what untold damage might he cause should he remain here another two to three years?
Heaven forbid if we should have to have our morning services relayed to the Church Hall to cater to the overflow of persons.

Dear Sir,
Please allow me space in your newspaper to thank all who supported our Tag Day on Friday March 4.
Thank you to all the volunteers who tagged on our behalf. Many of them were seniors and we salute them for their commitment to the community.
Thank you to the businesses who allowed us to tag from their locations and thanks to the general public who made it known through donations and comments that the Adult Education School is supported.
