‘Queer cowards'

Dear Sir,

Following the mess in the House of Assembly last Friday, thinking people should now take a stand. We all knew who the gay MPs are and the Senators.

The gay MPs did not stand shoulder to shoulder with Renee Webb. They are dishonest cowards.

Therefore voters who do not want to see people support vicious prejudice against themselves, should decide never to support any of the gays in Parliament again.

Anywhere else in the real world these queer cowards would be outed

Dear Sir,

I believe we are beginning to witness what Bermudian life will truly be like if we were ever to go independent.

Only whites (regardless of skin colour) will be allowed to join the Opposition and blacks (regardless of skin colour) the ruling party; only Bermudians under the age of 55 will be allowed to vote; only heterosexuals will be considered Bermudian enough to participate in Bermudian celebrations and anyone exercising their right to freedom of speech will be dismissed as ‘not knowing what they are talking about'.

And Independence is being brokered to us by our Premier as an inclusive, patriotic requirement to bring us all together? Mr. Editor it appears to me that an independent Bermuda will become extremely exclusive regardless of our discrimination laws based on race, age, and sexual orientation.
