Their appliance centre is located on Reid Street in the building formerly used by Barnes Locksmith (across from Chopsticks) and the home furnishing and electrical section is located at the top of Spurling Hill next to Atlantic Traders.

"We have been in business for the past 18 months and it started when I had my hair salon. It grew from there and we finally ended at our present location", owner Mitra Johnston explained.

Ever the consummate business person, Mitra also has a stock of exercise equipment ranging from treadmills and ab machines to a weight bench for those who are planning on working off the post-Christmas paunch or to jump start their New Year's exercise regimen.

"Although everything is pre-owned we have some antiques, including genuine Persian Rugs and Egyptian Room dividers, books and even chandeliers and cedar planters," said Mitra.

Unlike many secondhand stores, Auction De Mitra also carries construction supplies for those who are doing some home renovations on a budget such as PVC new windows, Jacuzzi tubs, sinks and kitchen cabinets.

"There is even a live online auction for those savvy enough to ferret out a unique post-Christmas present. If we don't have it we can get it for you in four days", says Mitra.
